Hi everyone, this is a lazy, relaxed hello from the shores of Lake Balaton in Hungary. If, like me, you'd never heard of this beautiful locale, I suggest changing that soon — it's paradise here, especially since the main season's over and there are just a handful of tourists around. The water's an incredible turquoise, the people are lovely and the views are amazing. Budapest is just around the corner too, so it's been the perfect week so far!
For your weekend reading I've rounded up some lovely bits that I found on and offline this week:
/ A mouth-watering account by the inspiring Tejal Rao recounting her visit to Punjabi Dhaba, a food truck set up in a dusty lot in Bakersfield, California serving simple home-style food to the growing number of Punjabi truckers.
/ We visited the amazing Printa Design Store in Budapest yesterday and browsed their beautiful collection. All their prints are made in-house in the studio attached to the shop — this was my favourite.
/ Milkshakes are so perfect for summer: here's a quick recipe for one with banana and cardamom.
Enjoy a beautiful weekend! x
